Child food insecurity is more widespread than you think. And, it’s growing.
2,381 children were served by Ottawa’s shelter system in 2023
Over 1 ,200 children were experiencing sheltered homelessness
25.7% of Ottawa households reported food insecurity
37% of those accessing food programs are children and youth
Behind every statistic is a child trying to learn, grow and feel secure.
Kiwanis Feeds Kids supports practical, local solutions delivered through community partners like
Nutrition Blocs, ensuring school-aged children have reliable access to nutritional meals.
THE EVENT
On May 20th, Ottawa’s culinary community came together for a curated food
and beverage experience featuring respected local chefs, brewers, and distillers.
It was a welcoming evening with a clear purpose.
Every ticket and every dollar raised helped put nutritious meals
within reach for children who need them most.
